Hot-rolled H-shaped steel is an economical and efficient steel material with a cross-sectional shape resembling the capital Latin letter “H”. They are produced by repeatedly rolling continuously cast billets at high temperatures using a universal rolling mill. The flanges (upper and lower sections) are perpendicular to the web (middle section), and the inner and outer sides of the flanges are usually parallel or nearly parallel.
Compared to welded H-beams, hot rolling is a one-time forming process, which brings significant advantages such as no weld seams, uniform performance, low residual stress, and good appearance quality.
